Not sure where to begin? These five picks cover the essentials for getting started safely and confidently.

These are starting points — the full directory below covers many more options across every category.

Wallets

Desktop Wallets

Bitcoin Only

Multichain

Browser Wallets

Most wallets also offer mobile apps.

Hardware Wallets

Important:
When purchasing a hardware wallet, always order directly from the manufacturer. Do not buy from third party marketplaces such as Amazon or Newegg.

Domain & Identity

Services that let you replace your long wallet address with a human readable name, making it easier to send and receive crypto and build an on-chain identity. For example, instead of sharing a long string of characters, you could share a name like yourname.eth or yourname.bnb.

Domain Services

Note:
A crypto domain name does not replace your wallet — it works alongside it as an alias. Your original wallet address remains active and unchanged. Always confirm a domain resolves to the correct address before sending funds to one.

Centralized Exchanges

Bisq (opens in a new tab)

Peer to peer cryptocurrency trading without traditional accounts. Not recommended for novice users.

Swap Tools

Decentralized Exchanges

For use with Web3 wallets such as MetaMask or Trust Wallet.

Smol Refuel (opens in a new tab)

A gasless swap utility for when you do not have the native gas token for a chain.

Bridges

A bridge allows you to move cryptocurrency from one blockchain network to another. For example, if you hold funds on Ethereum but want to use them on Arbitrum or another chain, a bridge handles that transfer. Always double-check the supported networks before initiating a transfer.

Important:
Always verify you are bridging to the correct network and that the bridge supports your chosen asset. Bridging to the wrong network can result in lost funds.

RPC & Network Tools

Tools for connecting your wallet to different blockchain networks. If a network is not showing up in your wallet after bridging, these tools can help you add it quickly and safely.

Note:
Only add networks from trusted sources. A malicious RPC endpoint can monitor your transactions and spoof data shown in your wallet. Chainlist verifies its listed endpoints and is generally safe to use.

NFT Marketplaces

Platforms for buying, selling, and browsing non-fungible tokens across multiple blockchain networks.

Charts and Market Data

Blockchain Explorers

Tools for viewing transactions, wallet activity, and on chain data across different blockchain networks.

Tip:
Always verify you are using the correct blockchain explorer for the network your assets are on.

Security & Safety Tools

Tools for reviewing your wallet activity, revoking risky token approvals, and checking transactions before you sign them. Using these regularly is one of the most effective habits you can build in crypto.

Approval Management

Transaction Simulation

BSC Focused

Good habits:
Revoke approvals after interacting with unfamiliar contracts. Always simulate a transaction if something feels off. No legitimate service will ever ask for your seed phrase.

Portfolio Trackers

Tools for viewing your crypto holdings, transaction history, and DeFi positions across multiple wallets and chains in one place.

Note:
Portfolio trackers only require your public wallet address to function. Never enter your seed phrase or private key into any tracking tool.

Tax & Reporting

Tools for calculating your crypto tax obligations and generating reports for filing. Many countries treat cryptocurrency as a taxable asset, meaning trades, swaps, and even some DeFi activity may need to be reported.

Important:
Crypto tax rules vary by country and change frequently. This page does not constitute tax advice. Always consult a qualified tax professional for guidance specific to your situation.

News & Research

Reputable sources for staying informed on cryptocurrency news, market developments, and on-chain data. Always cross-reference news across multiple sources before making any decisions.

News

Research & On-Chain Data

Note:
No single news source covers everything objectively. Developing a habit of reading across multiple outlets helps build a more balanced picture of the space.

Crypto Education

Trusted resources for learning about cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and DeFi concepts. Whether you are just getting started or looking to deepen your understanding, these platforms offer structured and reliable content.

Beginner Friendly

Hands-On Learning

Tip:
The best way to learn crypto is a mix of reading and doing. Start with the beginner guides above, then practice with small amounts on chain to build real confidence.

Staking & DeFi Yield

Platforms for earning rewards on your crypto holdings through staking and decentralized finance. Returns vary widely by platform and asset, and all DeFi activity carries risk. Always research a protocol thoroughly before depositing funds.

Staking

DeFi Yield

Important:
DeFi protocols carry risks including smart contract vulnerabilities, liquidation, and impermanent loss. Never deposit more than you can afford to lose, and always verify you are on the correct official URL before connecting your wallet.

Earn with Crypto

PTC sites and other platforms that offer earning opportunities using cryptocurrency.
